We are all parents of children who attend Alcott Hall
Primary School , in Chelmsley Wood.
In the summer of 2005 we all realised
that there was little or nothing to do or nowhere
to go in our local area, for children aged 0-11
that would be a safe, clean and economical
environment, where parents and children could interact together and have fun,
So we came together and formed an activity group called :

bringing fun and adventure back into our local community.
.We run the group from our local school Alcott Hall Primary as we decided
it would be a familiar and welcoming environment with pleasant and safe surroundings,
where the children are encouraged to use their sense of fun and imagination.
Originally there were four parents bringing 12 children, which quickly increased to 15
parents bringing 35 children, we are now to the level of 17 parents
bringing 45 children. We now have a waiting list because Funkey Monkeys Adventure
Days reputation of fun and adventure had spread throughout the local community.
None of this could have been accomplished without the help and continued support from Alcott
Hall , the acting headteacher Mrs S M Dickie , all of the staff and caretaker Mr G.Baker
the relief caretakers and of course our main sponsors the Local Network Fund.
Our hopes for the future are to expand this fun and adventurous group wider through all
of North Solihull incorporating Castle Bromwich, Smiths Wood, Fordbridge and Kingshurst
as well as our main base in Chelmsley Wood.
